Rediscovering Polaroids

30 May 2017

Photography and myself have a love hate relationship. I love it, it hates me. That is probably a little bit harsh, but whilst I really do love taking pictures, I really do wish I was better at it, particularly with regards to blogging and blog photography.

However, whilst this may apply to digital photography, I recently purchased a new Impossible Polaroid 600 film to pop into my 15 year old (!) camera and hey presto, it still works! So off it popped with me to Barcelona and let me tell you, the photos I got I could not be more in love with.

They are snapshots in the truest sense of the word. I cannot edit them, I will never be able to repeat them exactly, you wait tensely over the thirty minutes as all the colours fully develop and I absolutely bloody love them.

Don't get me wrong, I am fully aware that £17.99 for a film of eight pictures is an expensive hobby to have, and as Impossible are the only manufacturers of the film I need, I am at their mercy. But for how much I love the photos, a film every so often really is worth it for me.
