Alone Time

14 September 2016

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a big fan of ensuring you get some alone time. Not too much, but just enough to let your mind and body let out a long and satisfied sigh.

Aaaahhhh.

Not to sound to much like a cliche, but as you get older this gets harder and harder as your commitments and responsibilities become more pronounced. I hope that doesn't sound patronising as I really don't mean it to but, honestly, each year brings more responsibility and it is exciting as well as terrifying, I promise!

So this brings me back round to alone time, it gets more important the more you take on as regardless of your position in life, you must always take care of yourself first, then you are well equipped to care for others.

I have been taking on a bit too much recently (I know, boo me right?) so I thought I would take stock with everyone that reads this blog and put together ideas for alone time. My go-to tends to be reading but sometimes if you've had a day at work where reading is most of it, words no longer make sense and you need to give your eyes and brain a break.

I also seem to love lists at the minute, so here we go, a list of alone time ideas;

Read a book (it has to be my number one).
A bath.
Go for a walk.
Look at the stars.
Exercise.
Paint your nails.
Use a body brush and moisturize.
Put clean sheets on your bed and get into bed half an hour early to enjoy them.
Meditate.
Cook.
Bake!
Watch an episode of your favourite TV show.
Watch your favourite film.
Watch a guilty pleasure (*cough* Celebs Go Dating *cough*).
Paint.
Draw.
Design.
Make.
Photograph.
Sing.
Dance.

Just take the time to do something that is just for you.

What do you do in your alone time? x
